Description of Billiluna (Mindibungu) Community
In 2003 there were 220 people in the Billiluna Community. There are 4 commercial buildings; Garage, Centrelink Office, Store and Clinic.
The garage opens 7am - 12noon and 1pm - 3pm, Monday to Friday. Then opens from 9am to 11am on Saturdays. Diesel and Unleaded petrol are available at $1.50/l and does not change in price. $15 call out fee during daylight hours per vehicle if you request service out of these hours. Limited repairs and
servicing are available by a qualified mechanic.
Water is available to tourists, it is very high quality
bore water, said to be the best in the
Kimberley, sweet taste with no salts.
The store opens Monday to Friday from 8am - 11.30am, then 2pm - 4.30pm. On Saturdays it is only from 9am -11am. At the store you can find frozen meats, fresh vegetables, fruits, frozen bread,
cold drinks,
ice-creams etc on sale with a fortnightly truck resupply. The clinic operates 5 days with a callout service. There is a fulltime nursing sister and a Doctor that comes in once per week from either
Halls Creek or
Derby.
