Description of Mt Gibson Sanctuary
Mt Gibson Sanctuary is privately owned by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy and is located within the first pastoral lease on the Great Northern Hwy, approximately four hours from
Perth. Located in a semi-arid region the sanctuary straddles the biologically important "Mulga-Eucalypt" line. Basic
camping ground facilities exist at the sanctuary. The main campsite at Quartz Hill has a bush toilet and shower available as well as barbeques. Wood and water are supplied.
No rubbish collection facilities.
Most roads within the sanctuary require a 4WD for access, although the main Quartz Hill campsite (on the way to Kurrajong Well) is accessible by 2WD vehicles along the Mt Gibson Rd (subject to
weather conditions). Other campsites require 4WD. Campers are required to make a booking. Fees apply.
