Description

Delicious for a cold winters night

Ingredients

  • half onion sliced,1 clove garlic sliced
  • 1 carrot sliced, 1 celery sliced, 2 medium sized potatoes sliced, quarter pumpkin peeled and sliced
  • half cup of pearl barley
  • 1 tablespoon chicken stock (powder), 1 litre chicken stock pkt,
  • 4 ltrs water
  • Pepper to season

Method

  • Step 1One 10 litre saucepan or campoven add 4 litres of water, then add all cut up ingredients & bring to boil, reduce heat to simmer for about an hour.
  • Step 2Brown onion with garlic in frypan then add to stock.
  • Step 3Stir with wooden spoon occasionally, until all cooked.
  • Step 4Serves 4 - 6
