Just thought I would put in a good word on our short stay at Warrawong on Darling, we couldn't access any of the unsealed roads a couple of weeks ago and were recommended this stop over by fellow travelers we met in Broken Hill. Nice well grassed spot just a short stroll from the Darling River with access to a lagoon for Kayaks. One of the best amenities we have seen and plenty of friendly people around the well stocked campfire. Not too far from the town (just far enough).

When we were in Broken Hill it poured and the road was closed to Mutawintji NP and Bourke, our original plan was to go to Trilby Station, there was enough water in the Darling for a paddle, though down somewhat from the top of the banks. Similar story at Menindee also.

We agree on the new park at Wilcannia. After all the bad reports about the whole area it was like coming into an oasis. As you said it is far enough out of town to make it comfortable.
Its a pity you missed out on Trilby, we went up the Darling from Wentworth last year and had a ball. We stopped at Nelia Gaari, Warrawong, Kallara and Trilby along the way. Each has its own charm and we enjoyed them all.

Many thanks for this info. We had heard of a good place near Wilcannia and this certainly sounds like it. Will probably be that way in early Sept.
