Hi Baz,
Good luck with it. I work extensively thru the South island and travel the Arthurs pass and Hammer springs passes every year and it is spectacular and rugged. I was there for the coast to coast 2 years ago and couldnt get over how big it is and how many spectators there are.
Enjoy it what ever place you come for finishing is the biggest reward.
