Comment: Using the <span class="highlight">4psi</span> Tyre Inflation Rule

This article may explain a problem I had with my 2011 Falcon XR6. When I purchased it, sometimes when I parked it in the garage the was burning smell similar to rubber. The dealer could not find any problems. At 23,000 klms I went for a wheel alignment only to be informed that all four tyres DunlopSp1 were ruined, all four worn on the outside (both edges), just about identical. I had been running them at 30 psi per the Ford book. I was told it should have been 32 or 36 or even 38. Nobody seems to know, all I knew I was up for about $1600 after 23,000 klm. Needless to say, I was not amused. Anyhow, new tyres at a minumum of 36 and no burning smell in recent times. No prizes for guessing what the response from Ford or the dealer was.
