Thank you for your replies and it is certainly on our list to visit so I will file this for future reference. Btw rough roads don't scare me too much but extra soft sand with the van is tempting fate. We are OK with sand in our camper trailer, something that we do when visiting Fraser Island or Teewah Beach (just north of Noosa).
