scangauge reset

The only way to get accurate settings from your Scangauge is to reset at the time of fuel fill up. If you forget then you will have to subtract the last fill from the Scangauge reading.

You are not alone, been there done that many times.

I find the best and easiest thing to do is on the next fill up I just use the amount of fuel as shown on the guage then the next fill up put in the actual amounts.

Bit OT to what you asked, Bill, but for past couple of months we've been using Fuel Map on an iPad, to keep track of our fuel costs. Collates all the economy, costs etc and you can go back to make up graphs etc.

Also has maps to find fuel outlets, and their current prices.

Hi Bill,

I think I know why you are asking... After not setting mine for six months I thought I would redo the fill accuracy and was startled to see a reading of several thousand litres!

Anyway, I figured that was probably representing how much fuel it thinks I have put in since last updating it (after a big trip). i think all you need to do is accept what it suggests on that fill, then start the resetting from the next fill. Hope that makes sense.
