It seems to be one of these:
No call credit included:
*Telstra $20/month GSM sim with no calls but month to month (and tricky to obtain). min $240/year or $20 each month for connect/disconnect each trip connected but constant reconnects are not guaranteed as its becoming an old plan and may go $10 path
*Telstra regular GSM plan swapped into
iridium when out of reception (what would be the charges when regular stream of SMS and calls come in? voicemail notifications? Cost of those would need to checked. Swapping sim during emergency would not be my preference. Do any plans include credit value?
*Pivotel casual at $22/month with a once off $110 connection fee. min $264/year plus $110 on first connection
Call credits included:
*Telstra $35/month (or higher) satellite plan on a contract. min $840/2 years
*Pivotel plan on a contract (starts at $40). min $960/2 years
*Pivotel satellite plan and a GSM plan to get redirection so people can use same number to call both. min $1440/2 years ($40
iridium and $20 mobile)
*Pivotel plan activated and disconnected each trip with $50 connection fee for each activation (min cost $90 per trip)
*Prepaid card (prices start from a lot)
What have I missed?
Its a trickier choice for those that have irregular use for it like me.
