Hi All
Just wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction to find the type of holder in the photo.
I used to be able to buy them, or maybe they came with packs of coils. Thing is, I don't wish to carry a box of coil holders. We may set up as many as 10 coils around
camp. Each pack up, a couple get lost or stood on. Just want dirt cheap ones. You could fit 10 of the ones shown in a match box just to give you an idea.

I think you get something similar when you buy a pack of the coils? Cost next to nothing

Hi Lyndon,
I think you will have to buy a pack of coils. Some packs have the holder built in under the lid, so you might need to buy multiple packs to get multiples holders.

They do indeed Macca,1 on each lid for the 30 coils enclosed.
However, I don't wish to carry a box of lids around. Just want the small ones as per photo.

Hi Lyndon,
Just make a stand from coat-hanger wire as per photo below. Poke it into the sand/soil and hang the coil centre onto the hook. Do not allow the coil turns to come into contact with the wire as it usually extinguishes as the burn reaches that point.
For use on hard surfaces bend the wire into a circular base.
Been doing this for years. Better than those fiddly tinplate stands that come with the coils.

As I said above, "For use on hard surfaces, bend the wire into a circular base." I have two such under the barbie but can't be bothered taking another photo. Anyway, you did say "around camp" which is not usually hard ground.
As for being "not so good on the feet/legs in the dark". If your'e running around a
campsite in the dark with bare feet you deserve all you get. And I wouldn't fancy stepping on those proprietary tinplate thingoes anyway.
Ungrateful oaf….. you do not deserve the benefit of my inventive genius.

Stephen, Roz would not dream of hanging her fine garments on a plain wire coat hanger. Hers are all padded and embroided in the finest manner.
Incidentally, it is becoming more difficult to obtain wire coat hangers these days as we use dry cleaners less and stores only use plastic ones. How can you fix a broken car radio antenna with a plastic coat hanger?
And yes, I have seen those contraptions you illustrate above. They do not pack flat as do
mine and they tangle into a bigger mess than my USB cables! Definitely an inferior product only appealing to yuppies.

See if you can get hold of the croc head holders.
They are made from stainless steel and work very
well
If you have ever stumbled onto the pointy end of the holder that comes with a lid, you will never forget.
Try tackle shops or bcf etc

You could cut your own from aluminium cans using scissors. I reckon you can get at least four from one can. Simple easy and cheap.

Every body gets broken pieces of mozzie coils . What the product in Stephen’s comment does clips on to the smallest piece or the whole coil. I have three.
