Not since 2018. Been some weather since then. :)

Check out my blog if interested in how we found it (Alice to Telfer & on to Karlamilyi) & a few weeks later Marble Bar to Marble Bar via Carawine gorge & Skull Springs Rd.
See 'My Profile' (below) for link to our Aussie travel blog, now in it's 6th year.

Pk6,
Check out thread 145688 that asks much the same question.

When we did much of that route in 2018, it was a bit rough east of Telfer, towards Punmu, then had been recently graded through to Sandy Blight turnoff, near Kintore, where we turned down the SB track. Did pass a couple of vans heading west on that journey.

We did it around 4 weeks back. The dirt to the Telfer Mine TO was pretty well maintained. From the TO it is a single lane plus a half of pretty average corrugated outback track which is almost the same low standard all the way to the bitumen in the Western Macs. Country is beautiful mostly, finding a campground can be problematic as it seems several have disappeared & fuel availability is highly variable. We flat least one of the 24/7 sites closed meaning JC are required to be carried.

In summary it’s a really long version of the Tanami quite frankly. It’s guaranteed to give your suspension a workout plus tyre pressures are rather important

Thanks Rob, very comprehensive. We did the Great central RD and other gravel roads all had varying levels of corrugations and us the suspension does get a workout, if we take our time carry JC's we should be ok.
Thanks again
Cheers Phil
