Transcontinental railway access Road WA permit?

No permits are required and it is open to the Public and a great drive.

Sean from above contacted us about this Forum post and confirms that if travelling WEST of Haig as you have indicated (Rawlinna to Kalgoorlie) then no permit required and is open for access (his exact words) - however travel EAST between Haig and the Googs Track is no public access. The situation remains the same as it has always been for as long as we have been running ExplorOz (23 years).

The track across the TAR closely follows the Fibre Optic cable put in by TELSTRA during the 80, s on the Nullabor section.
Speaking from experience, you will have no issues in regard to travelling the road, however, should you become stranded due to vehicle breakdown etc., ensure you have a viable alternative for rescue. (We always travel with multiple vehicles).
We have previously purchased Diesel from Forrest, call the caretakers prior to arrival to arrange.
And please remember, you are within the rail corridor when you are within 3 metres of either rail and any Hight above or below within those 3 meters. Trains do travel at 115 km/h across the TAR
As also raised, ARTC do not issue permits, so travel is at your own risk.
