We have owned a 94 GXL 80 series petrol for three weeks and have discovered the centre diff lock does not engage. The servo motor whirs into action when the button is pushed, but there is no clunking noise to indicate diff has locked. The dash light also wont come on and this switch has been checked and is good.Could a gear be stripped on the servo? Is this a box out job to fix? Also when I say there is no noise I mean not even a squeak, only servo noise.Any ideasThankyou,Andrew

I've had a servo motor cark it, the new one was 5 figures from Toyota!!!
If the motor is working then must be an internal problem, from memory you can remove the servo motor from the side of the trans to check operation.
