I am planning a trip for the next NSW school holidays (Sept-October) through the opal fields at
Lightning Ridge,
Yowah and
White Cliffs. There will be two Patrols both towing offroad camper trailers. We are leaving from Albury and will travel up the Newell to get to Lightening Ridge.
My Patrol is a 3 litre diesel with 180 litre capacity. The other is a 4.2 litre petrol Patrol with 125 litre capacity. The diesel will have no problems between sections buit we are not sure about petrol Patrol as he has never towed the CT before.
Can anybody please advise if the tracks from
Goodooga to
Cunnamulla past the Culgoa Floodplain National park are suitable. We do not want to go through St. George.
Also after
Yowah via
Thargomindah we will return to
White Cliffs. What is the best way to travel this section. We were going to go from
Yowah to
Innamincka and then
Tibooburra to
White Cliffs but I think that will be too rushed for two weeks.
Thanks
