Hi
Does anyone know if there is a modification to prevent the centre diff from locking automaticly when low range is selected on the constant 4WD 100 series. I would like to be able to tow my heavy van in low range on hard surfaces if required.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards
Ken

Dont know if you can modify it.....
But an alternative is to put Free wheel Locking hubs on the front, when you need Low range on a hard surface just unlock the front hubs you will achieve the same result

Hi Ken,
yes you can, I found some sites while surfing, Have a surf or wait until a response comes to you. I thought about it, but as I have the TD with an auto, I have never not been able to push 3.5 tonnes of trailer around while parking so didnt see the need

LCOOL 100series site lists the same article as the 80series:

Yes, I've done it with no problems; just a simple connection to unplug, tape up and secure. One small thing though, you've got to remember to press the difflock button, and I've got the UHF handset hanging near the button; must have bumped it off somewhere on the French Line and had a hell of a job getting over some dunes, then the co-pilot pointed it out to me! Whoops.

Ken,
Hop underneath your car and remove the circle plug that is located at the back of the transfer case (approx 11 o'clock) when looking towards the front of the vehicle. I have done the same on my 80 series. It allows you to go to low range without activating the centre diff lock. The button on the dashboard then becomes the real centre diff lock/4wd button.
