<span class="highlight">GPS</span> - UHF all in one unit

Hi, Just wondering if there is such a hand held device that has both UHF 2way radio and GPS all in one unit, and if so can any one advise of it's make, performance where to get hold of one.

"Uniden GPS205" I bought one from DS Powerhouse the other day for $ 197.00, run out stock.

Seems to work ok, 1watt power, see how it works over time??

In the US they use a hand held called Rhino, it's not approved by ACA as it uses a different frequency.

I think you mean Garmin Rino.

You are correct in saying they are not available in Australia. I'm hopeing they will be in the future.

I don't have one but was very interested in buying one until I found out the GPS bit of it has no way of being used for back tracking or telling your current speed or pointing in the direction you should be going because you can't punch in coordinanates and ask it to "show me the way"

They are however very handy if several people have one. Every time you transmit it tells others with the same unit what direction to go to find you, and how far away you are.

Thanks Guys' for the info will take it all in. but for power and control seems like I'll have to buy the two seperate items.
