Does anybody know of a person or company that is able to configure a Magellan
GPS to a laptop. I am IT challenged to many abbreviations.

Hi Andrew
I have an early model Magellan (pre mapping software) Is it possible to link these, using the
GPS reading, to mapping software on a laptop?
Apart from that, I will give you a ring sometime soon. We wont be doing the Simpson trip with Heinz this year, he is too busy with work.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
Which model Magellan do you have?
Sorry to hear about Heinz ... are you going to offer to take anyone else?
Cheers
Andrew.

Good morning Andrew
I have a Magellan 4000XL with an external aerial up on top of the
snorkel.
We are still thinking about whether or not we will do the race this year. I'll give you a phone call.
Thanks also Navarman. I am in south
Adelaide but as I know Andrew I will impose on his generosity first.
Cheers

Do you have the 12V interface module that includes a DB9 connector? (a 9-plug connector in a D-shape).
Cheers
Andrew.

Hi we are using base model maggelan to a laptop, the only real hassle is oxeploere map software using the same com port as
gps Sounds complicated but isnt really. just have to
check the port the laptop chooses and tell ozexplore which port. This might put you in the right direction. Nothing else needed to be done when i connected ours.
