Well, we head off on 2 June for a month - heading up the Newell, then onto Bourke and up towards Yowah, Quilpie (yep looking for opal), then we will see what happens, might head on to Sapphire for a few days, have to call in at Caloundra to see the son who has just moved there, and then down to Kalbar to the daughter and her boys.
Anyone know anything about Yowah, Quilpie and the surrounds that might be of interest, that you don't find in the normal travel books?
We are self sufficient with solar etc in a tent trailer - so bush camping is ok by us - know any good spots? Want to share your info with us?
regards

Great camping at the pub at Eulo, the greenest grass I have ever seen, especially out that way. Five bucks a head for camping. Also have a look at Currawinya Nat Park and drive thru to Hungerford, magic old pub there to and the people are so friendly, we were out there last Easter. They have had a bit more rain as well so should look pretty nice.
Cheers Bruce.

G'day Jules
Yowah is a really great spot. You can camp for free in "town" - big dirt patch with some shade and toilets and showers. Digging for Yowah nuts is hard work - take a crow bar:-).
If you get a chance go and see the friendly guy at the pink "restaurant"/souvenir shop - just up the road from camping area. Anything you need to know about the area, he knows.
Have a safe trip.

Quilpie bakery has fantastic pies - full of real meat! Made by a lady who won the female shearer of the year one year!
