G'day Merry,
Been waiting for enlightenment, but curiosity has got the better...........
Please, what is a 'Webasto 2000 diesel', and will I ever be able to post on this site again, having shown such ignorance?

Yours sheepishly,

Jeff.

Jeff
From my knowledge the Webasto diesel heater is used to heat caravans and motorhomes. They're a small unit that mounts under the seats or other convenient place in a van and provide sufficient heat to warm a whole van. The caravan model comes with a 12 litre fuel tank, and the motorhome one normally draws its fuel from the vehicle fuel supply. There are a few different types on the market and they range in price from around $1500 - $2000
Hopefully got it right
Peter

orignally .. many many years ago the webasto heaters were developed as car heaters for the air cooled Beatle and also the Porsche for the coller climates in Europe. You had a petrol heater in the cabin hooked up to a timer or remote ..
the diesel models were used in Buses and Trucks and also in Trains ...
Caravans and Mobile homes is a more recent application .. :)) ...
I am actually looking at the webasto cooktop (diesel) and heater for my slideon including the calorifier for hot water ... don't want gas ..
have fun

Maybe 'Wanted to Buy' in the ExplorOz Trader would be less subtle?

Although, I would doubt very much if you find a used one yet.
They produce excellent clean heat & can also be used as a hot water service.

Not sure about Webasto, but I bought a similar device for the boat. It's a small diesel-powered furnace which will blow hot air into your car, van or boat. Brand is Eberspacher, and available from Dometic for less than $2000 depending on the options you need. Eberspacher are packaged up with all the bits you need like exhaust, muffler, ducts and outlets, whereas Webasto (when I looked at it) was a lot more complicated to order. These things are great, and run several hours on a litre of diesel.
