I have received confirmation today from Hemma, the publisher of the "Discover Australia by 4WD" book, edited by Ron Moon, that all the GPS references are in WGS84, although the book doesn't tell you that anywhere.

Just a note on WGS84, all GPS units work in WGS84 and convert to the datum you choose, i.e ADG84. So, when you read the figures in a Hemma book you set your GPS to WGS84, type in the co-ords and then choose the appropriate datum to suite the mud map you have and hey presto the co-ords will shift about 150 metres and you will be closer to that billy tea. All will be sweet!!
