For some years I've heard stories of the magnificent fishing around these islands. I don't need somebody to take me out there, but would like to hear from anyone who has been to the Islands recently.
Is the fishing as good as I'm lead to beleive? Also what rod and tackle was used?
Regards
Kim

Isn't it amazing when you have a look at authors names, or business owners names, how they relate.

Kim,
Only ever been lucky enough to actually catch jewies once i found that if you are in deep water and get a strike they only put up a little fight because they suffer from barotrauma, if you want to really
test your gear try fishing in shallow waters, bang they are off. Night fishing is also good.
I was useing a 7' rod with a shimano 14000fa real with 50 pound braid ( my big fish rod)
Regards
Stephen

Handy
Don't know much about it. At a guess, you'd take a helicopter out of Labelle Downs, Welltree or somewhere close by.
From memory, there's a community located on the beach almost opposite the Islands.
From what has be said here, I'd have to tape a Star Picket to the trout rod. LOL
Where are you going for the pigs?
Have a good trip.
Regards
Kim

Hi Kim,
I fished the area 3 yrs ago with EQUINOX charters out of
Darwin and it was awesome. The jew came on the bite briefly around the change of tide.5 anglers on board,we got 8 fish around 15 kg.I was lucky enough to get two of them.We also took a few golden snapper arond 45-50 cm.The only regret,I left my camera back at
camp and a chick from Melb. never sent me a
pic she took.
Cheers.
