That's ok Wayne.
When you do a Post or an answer , below the area where you type you see all the buttons, use the one called INSERT IMAGE , go to the photo which must be on the internet and do a properties on it, copy the URL in that properties and paste it into the Panel for INSERT IMAGE, make sure not to double the http// The URL will look like this
http://www.pps.net.au/4wdencounter/images/detroit_lsd.jpg
but if you put that URL into the INSERT IMAGE panel it look like this below, if you want to see if it's going to work press the Preview button

If the colours are correct that looks amazing, can't wait for a zoologist to let us know what it is.

Yes - is is a male Painted Dragon - Ctenophorus pictus (Some older books place it in the genus Amphibolurus).
Cheers

Very cool looking
lizard. What about one seen along
plenty highway, fairly plain looking but with some serious spikes around its neck.

I have to agree with WK on that one - a Bearded Dragon, and to be more specific probably a Central Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps)
Twice in one day ---- too much:)

I have seen zillions of these ( I think the same ) in the WA deserts . They can really motor too .
I looked them up in my book and could not find an exact match .
If I remember correctly , they did not run like a normal
lizard but instead , ( you'll think I'm nuts at this ) seemed to have a more frog like movement .
Willie .

I don't know their real name, but they look like lizards we've seen in the
Pilbara in summer and the only thing I have ever heard them called is "Ta Ta Lizards". I was told (admittedly over a few beers) that this is apprantly due to them waving a hand in the air as if saying "Ta Ta". Its true! (really), which aparantly is something to do with them regulating heat in their body. Very Cool
Lizard.
Has ayone else been told this yarn?

Robert,
I know what you mean. I thought it was BS first time I heard this ta ta
lizard thing. I've been waved "ta ta" to by dozens of the little blokes now!! I've seen them from QLD to WA though never with the colours that the one in these pics have. Obviously a relative of some kind.

Hows it going Robert,
Saw the Lizards before I heard about them .
Must admit my wife had a funny look on her face when I told her I just saw a
lizard wave at me , too many beers in this heat eh.
Glenn.

Thank god for that! Seen heaps up north in summer, but not quite same colouring as the photo here (definately looks the same in all other respects though). Definately funny looking critters and judging by the bodies, the poor little buggers are a bit slow getting off the road as well.

Gents,
When I worked in Kimberly many years ago, also called them "Shaky Paw" lizards. They were fairly common, and pretty quiet.
Hooroo...

I think they call it the Simpson invisible
lizard. It's actually a gecko .
I got a lot of them in my workshop at night.
