Hi.
This is an interesting development,
One Laptop Per
Childhttp://www.laptop.org/laptop/
It is an ultra rugged laptop designed for very low cost use in poorer countries. US$188
The display is readable in full sunlight, as
well as with backlighting. Built in wireless networking and USB and solid state disk giving 200g shock resistance.
Sounds ideal also for vehicle use in rugged environments.

I recently heard a radio interview with Nicholas Negroponte and he has some really big money backing his ideas for very rugged computers at no more then US$100 each for third world school children.
I reckon we will be seeing much cheaper solid state hard drives with wireless peripherals soon which would prob be best for our trucks.

Not any good for me, I don't have the space to carry the
child to run the thing. Also our DVD player has never been the same since our children grew up and left
home. We just watch free to air now.
