Hi all,
Just returned from a trip up into banana bending country.
Started Portland NSW,
Roma, Springsure, Emerald, tablelands, Rocky, Emerald, Barky, Longreach, Winton, Lark Quarry, Cloncurry, Adel's Grove, Lawn Hill, Normanton, Karumba, Dunbar, Koolatah, New Dixie, Old Laura, Lakefield, Battle Camp, Cooktown, Bloomfield, Daintree, Cairns, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Sarina, Gundiwindi, Inverell, Port Macquarie, Home.
About 9,000km. the only trouble was the Mitchell river near Dunbar. It took me 3.5 hours to winch and tow the FIL's playdoe across as he kept getting bogged. Then I had to get his trailer out then go back for my trailer. Awesome fun makes up for the and the ccorrrrrrrugggggaaatttiioonnnnns.

Regards
Dave

Big trip - how long did it take you? Also where did you stay in Port Macquarie - we love that town.

Hi Tour Boy,

That sounds like a really great trip . Do any fishing or prospecting ?

I know what you mean about the corrugations up there . I did the Chillagoe / Kowanyama trip twice about 25 years ago first time in one of the first Nissan 4Wds - it did not handle the corrugations at all well and the second ina Holden Kingswood - we got bogged for 4 days in some early rain on the black soil .

Terrible bull dust up there too and the Nasty leaked like a sieve .

Willie .

Hi Willie,
Not a lot of fishing only Karumba, Cooktown, townsville so only about 20 barra, 10 jewies whiting and a toadfish (could have got that here LOL).

Didn't get to fossick other than for fossils but we would like to go back to the Alice river goldfields area as it looked promising.

Regards
Dave

Good to see you enjoyed Gods own country.
I don't mind bending bananas; I just wish the mexicans didn't work so hard at straightening them out ! :))))))))))

Catfish nibble your toes at Lawn Hill.

They did it to the missus and I've never seen her swim so fast.
