Hi Everyone,

I've had a 3.2x2.8 Freedom touring tent that I have been very happy with but with a 2 child it's just that little bit too small. I shall hang on to it because in no time the kids will be old enough to want a tent of their own when camping.

So I need something for the intrim. I've been looking at the Oztrail Tourer 10 Plus which is 4m x 3m approx and seems to be reasonably well made. No freedom mind you but at $400 pretty hard to not consider.
Or I could go for a second hand Freedon like what i have but I will need to pack both tents!
what to do....what to do.

Leroy......and I'm not into domes!

ha ha you still trying to sort this dilemma out? yep, the 10+ will have heaps of room and if you don't camp too often it will be fine for a few years then start again. Reckon you can do better than $400 though.

Yep but has come to a head now because the little one is 8mths and the good camping weather is upon us! We do camp a bit. I would expect it to do our Kimberly trip next year.
I've only seen them priced higher. Ebay even has them for $400 so I figure I can't get it much cheaper. but it's not just the price but the longevity that's also as important.

Hi Leroy
You can't go past Freedom tents. We took one on two big trips around Oz and it never failed us. In huge winds it didn't blow down but some others did. If you have owned one before, you know how good they are.
Cheers

you can't go past the price either!
i am not doubting the difference in quality with the oztrail 10+, but it IMHO it's not worth $800+ in price difference.

the price of the freedom is what I'm grappling with. An equivalent size freedom is $1600 and they are an excellent quality product but there is a $1200 price difference!
