I fitted a ScanGuage to my 2007 turbo intercooled Nissan after someone recomended it on the Forum.
It works great, just plug in and away it goes. Dealt with Wooders Garage, great service, posted it to Broome for me and was here in a couple of days. I can recommend both the product and the supplier.

I have no connection with the supplier apart from being a satisfied customer.

Yeh, great little device......I don't use mine to scan anything, just use the trip meter function and the read out screen for volts, engine temp, intake air temp, and actual speed........but with may more parameters to choose from, you can have heaps of other things on the screen...

Yep, mine arrived from Wooders in a few days and it plugged straight in my cruiser and worked as described. Being able to put in the cost of fuel when you fill up and then watch the $ being spent as you drive makes for some good guessing games with the kids on how much it will cost from A to B. And its also frightening at watching your $$ being spent so quick!

Cheers

The ScanGuageII Also very popular with Terracan owners.
I've had mine for about two years. I think there is a slightly better/updated version out now.
Watching fuel usage: Litres per 100K & Litres per Hour
Air intake temp: if 4C above ambient then check air filters
Water temp: the Terracan's temp gauge reads Normal from about 70C to 105C then rockets up if in serious heat.
Speed: Yeah well the Terracan's speedo is not the most honest bloke and is about 8kph low at 100kph! The ScanGuageII reads from the ECU or what ever but it is still a few kph shy. I tend to use the GPS as a speedo now.

Hi Brad
You can adjust the Scangauge to read the speed accurately by going into set-up>speed and adjust up or down till the speed matches what you gps shows. This is a handy feature if your speedo is out or have changed tyre sizes, like I have.

Thanks Chris for reminding me.

I'm planning to put larger diameter tyres on the vehicle which should correct it all round, but I suspect I will still need to adjust the ScanGauge as you say.

Hi
Can you all tell me where you have mounted the display face - does it 'stick' to your dash with velcro & if so where do you route the wire ??

Thanks

Initially I stuck mine to the top of the steering column but the sticking stuff stained the plastic. so now it sits at eye height on the dash with the cable going along under the dash mat. It is very light and sits well. I often have the GPS cradle on top of it so it too is at a good height and this sems to help hold both devices in place.

Hi Marco
Yes I have a D40, the Scangauge plugs into the OBDII port which is under the dash on the left side of the steering column and very easy to get to.

Hi Stan
Curious....Why no fit?
No OBDII Connector?
There is a setting for hybrid and I'd guess it might not mean hybrid/electric. Also there are settings for gas.
The website has a list of compatible vehicles.
email the guys at www.scangauge.com
If all is good...buy online direct from the sight while the Aussie dollar is so good.

Cheers

It is not unusual for ScanGuage to not 'talk' to some vehicles.

I purchased a Scanguage about 12 months ago for my 2004 Nissan patrol and no matter what protocol I try it will not 'talk' to the vehicle.

I have read on another forum about this problem while researching for my brother. Try emailing Ron DeLong at scangauge, ron.delong@linear-logic.com , If I remember correctly, he is one of the designers and has a fix by changing a wire around, as the Patrol as a different pin out.
I have no idea on the outcome of this as my brother never ended up purchasing one.

Chris

E-mail sent

Isn't it the way though _ I purchased the unit a few months ago so that I could monitor fuel usage etc etc for when I went on my CSR trip.

Well here it is the night before I leave and you come up with a possible fix - bloody Murphy and his laws!!! :-) :-)

Oh well - hopefully there will be an answer when I get back

thanks for the contact

Hi Stan

Buy it Online direct from the site.
It seems pretty safe I know of about a dozen Terracan owners who have done this. Landed here in Oz in a week or two.

That's a good idea.
For the $20 or so difference it is probably easier buying it locally.
When I bought mine I don't think Wooders Gargage was available as an option.
The mark-up isn't excessive either...not like some I've seen for diesel tuning boxes...500%!
