G`day people,
Well what a great experience it was, great people ,great places, great time in the greatest country.
I managed to make it home from Innamincka last Friday 10.15 am.
A slight problem with this computer now fixed, so I can now say thanks to all those at the gathering that made me, as a new member, feel so welcome. And to Willem and all others who organised the whole show a special thank you.
I havn`t been able to read any forum posts about the gathering yet so I don`t know what has been said, so to give a brief outline of where I went and what happened------- .
I went from Innamincka to Birdsville via Walkers Crossing, stayed c/park 1st night, near the Diamantina river 2nd night -- caught 2 nice yella`s .
On to Windorah ( the alternator decided to work again but lost the 7 pin plug from van), camped near bridge over Cooper Crk .
On to Quilpie , camped out of town near Bulloo river, caught 2 Yella`s .
On to Yowah ,opal festival on so stayed 2 nights at free c/van park.
On to Eulo, camped beside Paroo river.
On to Cunnamulla - Bourke - camped 100 k north of Cobar in the bush.
On to Cobar - camped beside Lachlan river 36 k north of Hillston. On to Hillston - Goolgowi -Hay - camped beside Billabong Crk at Wanganella, caught a very nice Murray Cod.
200 k to home .
4641 ks
879 litres diesel
$1781 cost of fuel

Scrubby,

Welcome back.

Good to hear you got a few yellas and a cod on the way home.

Sam is still reminiscing those yabbies, might have a better chance for fish next year.

Was good to meet you and look forward to seeing you at future gatherings around the place.

G'day Scrubby, good to see you got home safe after the Innamincka yabbie retreat. Our plans went pretty well as expected and we flew home Tuesday. We had some yella fillets and they were magic so no doubt yours were too.

I tried for yabbies again in the Cooper Creek at Windorah to no avail. Perhaps the smell of diesel was a bit overpowering from the jerries on the roof.

Catch up somewhere along the track mate........
