Hi members,
Would anyone know of a Low Carb - Low in sugar
Beer suitable for Diabetics, that is available in cans. I'm aware of 2 beers available in glass, Pure Blonde & Hanns Super Dry. Unfortunately not available in cans. I find that when touring around, cans are a lot easy than glass to carry when empty, but it seems the breweries don't cater for us remote travellers. Glass is very bulky and rattles around. Cheers Allan & Mary Anne

its all just marketing.
beer should contain no sugar. the sugar is converted by yeast ito alchhol. one of the tests to see the effectiveness of fermentation is to
test for remaining sugar.
as for diet
beer - how silly would you have to be?
carbohydrates/sugar has 16 kj per gram wheras alchohol has 27 so the only diet
beer is a low/no alchol
beer

Davoe,
Beer can contain sugar in the form of lactose. Lactose is the only sugar that does not react with yeast and Brewers use this to make a sweeter
beer.

CUB used to have a drop originally called Diet Ale, then became D Ale. It was available in cans. Whether or not it still exists I don't know.
It was specifically designed for Diabetics. It was full strength with a calorie content lower than light beers. Flavour was quite OK.
The last time I bought some was in about 92 for a diabetic customer who used to frequent my Restaurant.

Coopers DB
"As the initials suggest, Coopers DB is a dry
beer with a crisp refreshing flavour. This full strength lagers unique character is achieved through the virtual elimination of residual sugars by extended mashing in the brewhouse. Lower residual sugars equate to lesser calories than other beers of similar strength."
Not sure if it's still in cans (think so) but not a bad
beer.
