Looking for a roof rack system for carring bikes, kayaks etc. Any tips? A friend of
mine built one from pipe but I'm not that handy...

Your local Jayco dealer would have racks - I priced them recently for my Eagle - about $250

the local jayco dealer in western
sydney is dearer than that - between $300 - 400 (havent got the actual price nearby to
check) your price is good and their rack is light enough to fit on roof. recommended max weight is around 100kgs and with roof down and always unloaded with roof up

Don't be tempted to leave anything on the roof when erecting it, a right PITA when those cables let go!!!
You end up doing weightlifting in the van while the missus or kids jam bits of timber cut to length to hold the roof up!!

Campy,
my eagle has normal jayco racks on it - three bars. ive seen them for sale at the jayco
shop - although they are pretty basic.
ive made some bike carrier thingys similar to the Rola ones - and bolted them onto the rack. they have carried bikes across oz and back without any problem.
my plan is to bolt kayak thingys similar to Rola ones onto the rack to carry the kayak.
good luck.
