Garmin Etrex Promotion

G'day folks, We recently purchased a Nuvi 760 and came with a form to claim an Etrex H as a promotion. I've tried ringing Garmin and gave up waiting(after 40mins) and have emailed a number of times with no feedback either. HAs anyone heard or have an idea when these may be posted out?

We were up Talbotville the other weekend and I'm impressed with it for travel through the bush using shonkymaps so far.

I also purchased the same deal on boxing day. Received the Nuvi 760 2 weeks ago and sent the form and bar code to garmin a few days later. Haven't heard from them yet either. The blurb says that they'll email to notify dispatch date. So far still waiting.
Thanks,
Ron.

I know member Jack on this site received his Nuvi from Santa this year and the bonus e-trex has arrived already. I'll try and shake him up otherwise I'm sure he'll be along soon. Have you tried ringing the company you bought it from?

Cheers Mick

G'day Madcow

I bought a Nuvi 760 too but on reading the fine print (pre purchase) I found the promotional offer only applies to certain dealers. Didn't bother me too much because I already own an eTrex and buying the 760 (new) on eBay meant a saving of more than the value of an eTrex.

So it might pay to check if the dealer where you bought yours is approved by Garmin. Sorry for the bad news!!

I bought mine thru a place closer than you think and it came with the paperwork to sent back to cliam the ETrex, bought the 760 before Xmas, delivered just after and sent the barcode and questinare back before new year.
You had to purchase before 31/12/08 and Garmin had to have barcode of the 760 , copy of receipt, and questinare to them by 23/01/09.
I am also waiting for my Etrex, having said that there never was any indication on how long before Delivery

I rang Garmin today (Friday 23rd) and was directed to a promotions company who are running this deal, my paperwork had been 'validated' on the 15th, and It takes 2 - 4weeks for delivery.

Gday all, I also bought a nuvi 760 on ebay on 8th Jan, paid for it & the dealer folded - no delivery! This dealer was running parallel with your seller. Hopefully paying for it with paypal will test paypal/ebay guarantee, time will tell. First time after hundreds of transactions something has gone wrong for me on ebay. Fingers crossed, aussiedingo

Hope you go well. Hate to be the bearer of bad tidiings but it clearly states on the form that "online auctions or bidding sellers are excluded. Unless they are on the sellers list and are approved by Garmin.

G'day Toyo

If you've lodged a Paypal dispute you will get your money back. I always pay via credit card through Paypal which gives another backup. Had a small eBay purchase go bad a few days ago and after I lodged a dispute the refund came through in 45 minutes.

I've found that being persistent pays off as does a phone call to Paypal on their 1800 number (1800 073263). Not nice when a deal goes wrong, feel sorry for you as I've been there once or twice too.

Good luck......the 760 is worth waiting for and I could share the name of my eBay seller, unfortunately I cannot guarantee him as only bought from him one time. If I can help, email me direct, adding to the above username

Bought mine pre Christmas and immediately sent off the barcode and application form.Mine arrived last week. A friend took advantage of the same offer and he also received his the day after I got mine. I guess they were closed over Christmas.

I bought it from GPSOZ mainly because I wanted to get it frm a dealer who could support me if needed. So far so good.

G'day all

Bought a 760 off ebay to get the freebie as well.

Saw the conditions re auctions and simply emailed the seller and he sent me a tax invoice and I sent that off and received the freebie about ten days later.

That was before christmas.

Regards BooBoo
