It does have some interesting specs though, range of body configurations, plus Iveco is a big player in trucks, particularly light to medium stuff.

Now this is unsubstantiated but a friend of a friend heard a rumour that it and the Daily 4x4 may be considered for Oz distribution. If that happens it may bring some welcome competion to the no frills workhorse segment of the market here.

I'm sure there is some LR DNA there.
Not that unusual though, Santana in Spain made (still do?) series LR from about the late 50's under license from LR

Come to think about it, given that Iveco bought ENASA in the 90's it may well be the link. It may be a modern Santana we're seeing

Why re-invent the wheel when a perfectly good round one is available ex stock

Talking of oil leaks and LR, I saw a post on another forum a while ago, the guy has his signature on the bottom, like 'Still going there and doing that' or 'Each morning I sieze the day'..... but his read
'Land Rover... putting oil back IN the ground for 60 years, how green is that!' Made me burst out laughing...lol 'Whacker

Whacker, I hadn't heard that one but I like it!!! and driving a LR Defender and having owned a heap of them I can relate to it.

Mind you I had a 130 single cab once that didn't leak, and yes before someone starts we checked it had oil in it.

Long time no chat..
I have the Daily 4x4 version. Very handy and capable. Have had a few good day/weekend trips including a very damp caves to caves over Easter. Selectable 4WD/ with freewheeling hubs/ VERY lo low ration/rear diff lock and enough grunt to get into and out of trouble. !!
Definately not a motorhome- rather a granny flat on wheels. Double bed, 80l Engel, 4-burner stove even the kitchen sink.
It has a 4.5t rated GVM, and when fully 'trip' loaded it tips the scales at 3.5t.
In the process of trip planning - Painted Desert & environs and the Arkaroola region for June/July.
I'll send some action pics !!
