I have a Hilux with a duel battery system and I run a
CPAP and 40L Engel. Usually only get 1 night out of the battery for the
CPAP, but the Engel will run another day. What size/brand genny do I need to regharge the 2nd battery daily and what price range are we talking?
I run an invertor for the
CPAP that I have extended the length of the wire as they only give you 2mtrs, it now about 6 mtrs long. I used the same size wire, should I have used bigger wire?

its a deep cycle battery, not sure to actual capacity. Actual size is about that of a normal crank battery. Currently I am 4000k's from my vehicle.

Its beter to keep the 12V lead to the battery as short as possible. The 240V lead doesnt mater how long it is with in reason.

Do you need the generator or would the same amount of money spent on solar panels be better ?
You could have a look at my
Solar Power Calc and see if it is economic or not ..
Its in the fileswap under Calculators etc...
Cheers

to run a small fridge direct and a
cpap machine via an inverter, you need to replace what you use "obviously" so just figure out the current draw of both items is for a 24 hour period, then you need to be able to replace that in just 8 hours of sunlight if you use normal solar panels.

Wato35 I run a 3rd battery for my
CPAP machine (and hydrator) and
camp lights. It All 3 are 100 amp hours and are interchangeable. Used 6 BS sized wire with an Anderson Plug connection. Have just returned from 10 weeks away up north, sometimes had 2 or 3 days in
camp without electrical dramas. 2nd battery runs the Autofridge and the 1st battery starts the 80 series TD.
Cheers
