I took the Honda 2KVA
generator for its second service last week expecting a bill of around $70-80. Finished up costing me $118.
I’ll concede it was my fault for not asking the price of the service, but I thought it was tad high considering I’ve looked after the unit very
well, with checks on the air filter, oil, fuel and spark plug.
I’d be interested to know what others have been paying.
Regards
Kim

Much cheaper to do it your self, the most you would do is change engine oil clean air filter & if it had done a lot of work replace spark plug. You will probably find most of the bill was labour cost. Not much more you could do to a small
generator.

BUT - what did they check/replace? Bit like saying I took my car in for a 150,000 km service and it cost me $1,000.00 - I usually only pay $400.00 - oops - forgot to mention new brake pads, fuel filters, etc etc.
So, apart from everything YOU checked (prior to the service - which means nothing to a service centre) WHAT did they do for $118 ?
Lets try and keep things 'in perspective'. (

I get the feeling I’m being castigated. In future I’ll go into considerable detail, rather than post a simple question.
Now you get a good nights sleep, because I think you need it fella, with all that dribble.

Bear in mind, many vehicle workshops are now charging in excess of $100.00 per hour.
So, $118.00 inclusive of parts doesn't allow for much time.
