Hi All

I've found another bargain for the campers among us.

Supercheap Auto have their own brand, 800W, 4 stroke, inverter generator on sale for half price at $400

While these are no Honda generator, you're not paying $1000+ for the equivalent and is better than getting a 2nd hand Honda that's 10yrs+ old

The sale ends this Thursday the 29th

Here's the link for the current catalogue (it's on page 5):

Price is good.
Noisy little suckers - their specs quote 64db at 7metres.
Honda and Yamaha quote much lower figures.

i suspect 64db at 7metres is at full pelt, it may be quiter on it;s eco mode...

non-the-kless, unless your really gentle with it, it wont last long n a camping enviorment

dbish - you're kidding!
Caravan airconditioners I've parked alongside don't come anywhere near 64bd.
Honda and Yamaha gensets don't either. Campers get agro at these noise levels penetrating the peace and tranquillity of their bush camps.
I'm half deaf so the noise wouldn't worry me.
I have seen others get a bit uptight about it though, and you could wake up in the morning to find some thoughtful soul's mixed a silencing additive to your fuel.
Regards Dennis

Alsio the quality gennys make a continuous low level hum.

The cheapies make a cacophony of noise similar to a chinese opera with a drunk conductor

And 64 dB is not 10-15% more noise than 54db.
Its actually more like "each three decibel increment affects a 50% change in sound pressure levels" cut and pasted from here

Dennis Pease & tranquility in the bush are you kiding?? The racket from the bush at day break is increadable wakes me up. Can sleep peacfully with engines running no prob, if they stop then I wake up. Must be from being on Boats 24/7 with engines running continuously.

Well, not really.I was camped about 500 metres from a cheap and nasty out of Paynes find one night and the infernal thing was left going all night.
With the wind blowing the noise in my direction it was genuinely annoying.

Maybe 1klm would be better.;)
