I recently bought a "cheaper" inverter
generator from Ebay (adventurerscorner) and when it works, it works OK. However it is hard to start - requires 60-70 pumps on the fuel primer despite having a full fuel tank.
First the remote start died, the seller promptly supplied a new remote sender and receiver (no instructions) but it failed to fix the fault. They ignored my email about this. Then I was using it a few days ago (manual start) and it wouldn't switch off, even though I could turn the switch and remove the key - I had to turn the fuel tap off and wait for it to starve.
Their reply to this was for me to pack the
generator and pay for it to be sent interstate so they could charge me $159 to fix it.
Keep in mind it has been run about 1/2 dozen times, not yet used seriously and is only a couple of months old and cost over $900.
As they (adventurerscorner) are now ignoring my emails, I will have to take this up with the Office of Fair Trading. Not impressed.
So yeah, stick to brand names, and responsible sellers.
Cheers,
