Thats correct if you are talking about a Dometic type caravan rooftop a/c.
They are old fashioned power hungry dinosuars and at 40deg or above the Honda 2i will have trouble running it. I know as I have the same problem.
Normally 35 - 39 is ok.
Cheers Neil

Hi Merylin
Ours is an older Dometic air con, and the Honda did trip off on a couple of occasions on very hot January afternoons, but on restart was OK. Most people report theirs stops only in temperatures
well in excess of 40º.
Keep the Honda in as cool a place as possible (air flow and shade). Do you need to run the air con for long periods - eg you are
home in your van in the tropics most days or is it just for comfort on stopping when touring? If the former, although the Yamaha 2.4 is larger to accommodate and heavier, it should do the job when the Honda won't.
When we are travelling, which means we are following optimum climate eg not in the north of the country during summer, we rarely use the air con (and haven't used it with the genny since 2005), as we find sitting outside in the shade and a bit of breeze is quite satisfactory, and we use a 12 volt fan on hot nights.
