Howdy, does anyone here have any experience with the Navara D40 in petrol / auto combination?

I'm thinking of buying a new one and would greatly appreciate any feedback on them.

Cheers

I have a D40 diesel Auto which is great, from what I've heard the petrols are very thirsty - "Google" -Navara Forum - they will set you on the right track.

I could be wrong, but I thought they were not currently producing a petrol version. I have an auto ser4 diesel Pathfinder and am very happy with it. The Pathy & Navara share similar mechanicals.

Faster than a TRD hilux, drink fuel like you would not believe, dodgy wiring looms that cut through from chafing on the firewall. My mate's has been with nissan for 8 weeks waiting for one.

Hi. I have an 07 pathfinder petrol auto and absolutely love it. By itself it can return reasonable economy on the highway (best 11.7l/100) but since fitting the bfg all terrains has increased by about 1-1.5. Towing my jayco swan is a dream with it heaps of power( have had up to 160kph) and usually uses about 20l/100 now about22l/100 with the bfgs. Head wind will go anywhere up to 30l/100. I have looked at trading my d22 navara diesel on a petrol navara i like the engine that much. the auto is smooth and great when traveling to citys. I dont know if they can be put on gas but that would prob help with consumption. I have driven the navaras in diesel/auto combination but i still like the petrol(except when filling it up) heaps more poke and in my opinion a more refined/quieter motor. I can easily pass trucks with the van on. Hope this helps. Marn
