<span class="highlight">Kakadu</span> camping

Hi
Travelling through Kakadu late June from Darwin. Camping second night Koolpin Gorge. Any suggestions where to bush camp the first night? Red Lily Billabong? Alligator Billabong or are there better places ?
Cheers

Haven't been there for quite a few years but we camped at 4 mile hole (I think that was what it was called) and enjoyed it there. Or go into Cousins Lookout in the NP just before you get to Kakadu - biggest salties we have ever seen in the wild there and plenty of them. Good campsites though but that was back in 2002.

Its written up in our 2002 blogs.

Thanks Val for taking the time to reply to my query.
Unfortunately our return trip to the Gold Coast is rather rushed.
We leave Darwin about midday and are booked in to Koolpin Gorge the following night so we would like to get a camp spot about half way into Kakadu.
That would be about Red Lily Billabong area. I think we may settle on Red Lily or one of the many areas nearby.
Thanks again
