Yulara. Supplies.

bif it's food and fuel then you'll be fine at Yulara. It has a small but adequately supplied supermarket for foodstuffs. I don't know what days the truck arrives but I'd suggest it'd be fairly regular. I think they have their own bakery within the supermarket for fresh bread each morning but they also have packet bread as well. One service station with the usual supplies.

Do you need anything more complicated?

there is a reasonable IGA supermarket there as well as many gift shops and a coffee shop.
The servo stocks a reasonable range of stuff as well

The only problem is alcohol - can't buy it unless you pay to stay - room key or pass from caravan /camping site.
Or you could drive a few more hundred km and visit us at Blackstone Store, Papulankutja, WA!?!?!

In 2008 we found the store at Yulara carried a reasonable range although little choice if looking for favourite brands or flavours especially in refrigerated lines, and generally quite expensive. The surprise was fruit and veges - fresher than we found anywhere else and prices reasonable. Being Voyages owned the credit charge surcharge is applied. You wouldn't starve on their range, and the higher prices would still be better than the cost and time of a trip to Alice.

Another positive vote for the Yulara IGA, I think it is 5-6 lanes. Wouldn't be much smaller than the one in Bourke if you visited that. For routine supplies, it should have everything at surprisingly good prices.

It's need to be something specialised to warrant the detour to Alice.

The IGA in Yulara is fine. I think their prices are very reasonable. Last month they told me that that IGA prices are standardized across Australia ie, Yulara prices are the same as Adelaide. Keep an eye out for the meat "specials". Fuel is cheaper at Yulara than anywhere around, especially Curtin Springs where fuel prices are over the top.
PS. The IGA store in Coober Pedy has a huge range of stuff and good prices. It has been recently done up and is now excellent for shopping. I was there five days ago and prices seemed to be the same as at Yulara.

Was there 3 weeks ago and as others have said, the Yulura IGA is a reasonable size store. Some of the meat lines are even vacuum packed ready for the traveller. They also have a small range of clothes and other items, even push bikes as the hire charges for a week make it cheaper to buy one at IGA!.

Definetly no need to go to Alice Springs just for supplies. There is even a small light industrial area near the airport where mechanical repairs (welding, tyres etc...) are available.

We lived at yulara years ago and the supermarket has certainly improved out of sight to what it was.I don't think the IGA australia wide pricing comment is accurate though. We shopped at a number throughout the NT in the last 2 months and Yulara is the dearest as one would expect for location. Spent 4 days there in July and we had trouble getting good fruit and vegetables,every day we went in there were no apples, tomatoes or lettuce, maybe just unlucky but thought I should say in case you strike the same.

Just got back into internet range at Bindari Stn, on the banks of the Darling. Lovely spot.
