I've been given an old Yammie EF600
generator. Circa 1982 I think, one of the early 'suitcase' types but this one is in a die-cast casing and weighs 20kg.
During the course of trying to get it running, I noticed it has a fuel leak, from the little orifice in the centre of the red circle in this photo:
Is there meant to be something in this hole or is something inside the fuel tap dicked? Fuel only leaks out this little hole when the tap is on.

RW,
If you can pull that tap to pieces, it may only need a few new "O" rings to stop the leak. Go to Bearing service, or similar place to get them.
Whether that hole should be there, I wouldn't have a clue.

John, I was given the owner's manual along with the Genny which doesnt help me at all. Is the manual you have an owners manual or a service manual?
PS - Yamaha want $60 - US - for a new service manual for this little bugger!

Just had a look at the gennie. Mate there is no hole in the fuel tap unit as shown in your
pic.
Mine does not get used these days as we have changed the way we use power whilst away camping for work. Only suggestion I can make would be a small self tapper into the hole with "panel metal" stuff around it. Parts are not available but as someone else suggested, Bearing service or similar might be able to provide "O" rings etc and any gasket material you might need. Good luck with it, they are a geat little gennie for thieir age.
