Question: Trailer <span class="highlight">Wiring</span> Diagrams

Thanks Ed, so i assume i just take it from the tail lights, do I need a single wire from one side or both, loop from one or....? thks

A feed from either (closest) of the lights will be fine..

Connect one wire to the brown, & the other to white (earth return)
This is assuming the trailer is wired w/- standard trailer cable, and in accordance with the recognised standard..

Thanks Carl, they're not LED but i was thinking about that anyway. Unfortunately the tail lights are on mounts outside the body of the trailer rather than on the tailgate so I don't think that will work, tho perhaps moving the tail lights might be the easiest solution. Iain

be careful if your are looking at moving the lights, there are regulations with regard to where the lights need to be mounted. you'd probably need to search the National Code of Practice for building light trailers to find out exactly what the legal requirements are in regard to this matter.
