Contemplating fitting 3" system with (mandrel bend) to vehicle to improve response, lift torque and hopefully reduce fuel consumption slightly, has anybody done this to a Colorado or dmax and what results were evident . The vehicle has just had maxxis mt753 lt245/75 16" fitted and have lost about one liter/ 100 klm. When towing 23' van and with kayaks on consumption jumped from 12.5 to 14 ltres/100ks.

haven't got a Colorado but i did fit a 3 inch to my 3ltr Navara and the difference was amazing straight away. it is now exactly a gear better off on hills and the turbo lag has disappeared.
you wont be disappointed,cheers.

Similar to the other poster, i don't have a Colorado but did fit a 3" to my 80 series with turboed 1HZ.. cost me 1k fitted & worth every cent... Hasn't made any difference in fuel consumption but the performance advantages are noticeable.

I have used the 753 Bravo 245/75/16's for a few years now. Got 80k out of the first set. Been a great tire.
I have always used 14's when towing and always do 12's when not
I have never been a light foot though :-)
3 inch exhaust topic 13 Inch exhaust topic 2
Cheers Tony

Thanks fellows,
Think I must have a stab at it, always got the old system to put back on if it's no good.
Oh thanks also for the imput on the tyres have tried them in sand and some pretty heavy going in the Abercrombie national park and am very happy with them so far.

I haven't heard of anyone getting 12.5lts unloaded usually below 10lts per 100km but 14lts towing sounds really good with a van that big have you got a
snorkel they generally give you about 0.5ltr improvement bet every vehicle is different just ask around......The friend with the module uses more fuel when he dials it up on the in cab adjustment control don't know his fuel figures though

Hi batts,
Sorry wasn't clear enough, was getting 12.5 loaded before putting on new tyres with larger circumference, now getting 13.8 to 14 lts/100klms, unloaded use to get around 8.5 now that has gone to 9.3 - 9.5

Batts,
No don't have
snorkel, veh done 70 -80k standard except canopy, rhino roof racks and always keep revs below 2300 with peddle to mettle in other words drive it like a truck, hway around 80 to 90klm/hr 5th gear only down to 1600 cruise control always.
Third Isuzu ute 4x4 I've had find motor agricultural in this day but will work hard and economical.
My opinion only
Regards
Gant
