Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, this is a can of worms question.... The Minister for finance and all round lovely lady being in sound mind married to me Has gone and brought a Garmin Nuvi1390t gps system over the internet now I have been trying to do some research on it to find out what tloml has brought, I know being the minister for finance and Head of treasury, I am not supposed to ask but I would like to know what she has brought I couldn't find any mention of the said machine on the garmin sight. The questions are
1 Will I be able to put Hemma maps on it
2 How old is it
3 How reliable are they.
If any one can answer those Questions for me I thank you.

Broodie,
If you type in "Garmin Nuvi1390t" into your search engine you should find reference to that particular model. Or go onto the Garmin web site. I found it there. You can also look athttp://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2362646,00.asp

1. You won't be able to load Hema maps. You should be able to load Shonky maps or OZtopo. Go to http://www.oztopo.com.au/ or GPSoz web site to confirm this.

2. Don't know but they are still on the Garmin web site so they can be too old, 2010 perhaps

3. My Garmin Nuvi 255 is still going string after 4 years or so. Garmin should be as reliable as any other GPS.

Hi Doug, Thank you for the link, I have just finished doing a lot of reading, It seems it is about two years old but still has current software, so it may be good for a couple of years, which will suit the loml down to the ground as her car will need upgrading then, and hopefully she will get one with a gps built in. once agian thank you for the input.
