Barry.
You are a bit short on details of which motor you are on about. As general comment IVECO motors are reasonably good mechanic design but there electronic components are prone to failure. Eric.

H Bazz,
If you are looking at making a motorhome then you will be looking at a 50C18.
50 means 5000 total kg in weight and this is made up of vehcile weight and carry capacity. That being 3650 kg carry capacity. C meaning dual wheels on the back . S means single wheel on the back. 18 means 180 hp for the engine. The engine is great but it is some of the other things that are a worry. Transmittion is prone to slip if you have the "sprint shift" so get a manual. They also have a better resale value too. The diesel is so quiet that you have trouble at times telling what gear you are in. The radio antenna is in the the left hand mirror and not really that good. Designed for Europe so you will not get very good radio reception. Well terrible actually. The fuze panel in under the left hand radio speaker, written in Italian and upside down. So good luck with that at 3 am finding a blown fuze. There are 2 keys, one for the side door and the other for the ignition. Use the worng one in the ignition and the engine shuts down. They are almost identical as well. Easy to mistake at 3 am on a long drive. You have to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and get a reset. Service agents can be a bit few and far between as well. I towed a 3.6 ton trailer with mine and had not worries. Generally great vehciles but I would probably go for a Sprinter 519
