Desperation!!! Game on tonight and can't get dish going. Anyone know what satellite I am supposed to be looking for? Have set up for correct degrees angle and direction. I have a WS-6906 finder.
It was bought and shown to us six months ago but it's rather foggy now as its the first time it's been out of the box.
Eternally grateful to anyone that can get me going.

Foxtel is on D3. You need Optus C1/D3. Both these are co-located and therefore have the same settings. To make it easier delete all other satellites from the finder.
To ask the obvious, you do have a satellite Foxtel box and not a cable one?

Rod, sorry its been so long to reply but our internet reception was poor. Thanks for pointing (literally) me in the right direction. Once I knew what I was looking for the rest was easy.
Cheers mate.
Happy New Year.

PS. Funny thing was Arsenal game wasn't on that night after all. I did get to see the next game though on the weekend live at our van which was 7-3 in our favour. Got to be happy with that!!!

Here is a big tip with foxtel. If you have been with them for more than 2 years, threaten to cancel. I did and was put through to the retention team. My $73 per month package was knocked down to $29 for exactly the same channels before I still said no, I am sick of paying to see ads. You have to say no about 3 times to negotiate the price down though, The offer went $73, $49, $35, $29 in just one phone call.

It is a bit OT so I you have no interest or don't see the relevance then that is ok. Others may see some interest in saving about $500 a year on Foxtel I hope.

My question wasn't directed to ExplorOz, it was directed to Boobook, so I dont see your relevence.
Initially I was interested in this post, and the solutions other members may have, as it is not the usual, "my car isn't running well", "my van has a leak", "what 4wd should I buy because I am an idiot and don't know my arse from my elbow" rubbish posts that pop up frequently. If Boobook wants to let the forum know how ace he is that managed to have a moan and save some money on his Foxtel, he should have started his own thread rather than hijack someone else's.

Honestly Penchy, get a god dammed life. If you are not interested, then ignore my "ace at managing to have a moan".

You have misdirected this thread 5 times as much as me.

Go back to your little world.

Years ago when I was installing Austar in peoples homes, a starting point from memory, was to have the dish pointed North, and about 45degrees. From there the sat finder was used to get a more precise lock. This was in the Riverina area. Not sure if Foxtell used the same satelite, although I do believe they recently bought out Austar.
