Fishers Point Hike - TAS

Suitable For: Walk/Run
Distance: 5.2km
Recorded: 07 Mar 2024

Description

This hike is designed for low tide walking along the beach. If the tide is too high there will be impassable sections and you’ll be forced to hack your way through scrambly bush. If the tide is only partially low you can rock hop around the rocky headlands with care. Rangers post the tide chart at the trailhead near the whale sculpture.

At the point you’ll find Captain Fishers hut (brick ruins) and an old light pole once used when this was a pilot station to guide in the whaling ships.

The whale sculpture at the start of the hike on Adams Point is the site of a former whaling station.
