Knowing how much gas is left in a bottle is one of life’s great mysteries. And running out of gas in the middle of a barbie can be one of life’s greatest disasters. There are many bush remedies for this dilemma, ranging from pouring boiling water down the side of the bottle, to lifting it up over your head and, if you do your back in, it’s probably full. This is how it works: you move the marker on the gauge to the empty bottle weight, which is marked on the side of the bottle. You move a sliding ring up to the marker, attach NO NAG to the bottle and lift it off the ground – 25mm off the ground is ample. Then you remove NO NAG from the bottle and view the results. The sliding ring will have moved to indicate the amount of gas remaining. It’s as simple as that.
