Pioneer campers

Hi,

Does anyone have an opinion (good or bad) on the Pioneer campers, the one I'm looking at is the leaf sprung version- Prospector mk2??

Any thoughts will help. They are a hard floor version but quite a bit cheaper than comparable KK or Campomatic etc.

Austravel,

I have checked out this brand of Camper and was most impressed with its features.

Was considering buying one until we came across a second hand soft top at an off road show. SWMBO said, "that's more in our price range" so I went along with her and we bought it.

Still like the Pioneer though for an up-market camper. They were significantly cheaper than a comparable brand.

I saw them at at a Camping Show at Caulfield earlier this year and if you are in that price range, they are really good.

Canvas work and finish looked spot on. I'm researching cheaper soft floor ones.

I've been through their factory. The Poineer trailers are well designed and have very robust construction. The trailer layout and power management systems are well thought out.

Can I ask why you're not considering coil suspension?

We've got an Argyle and it is excellent. We have also used a Prospector which was very similar. Their after sales service was a bit crappy initially but second time around on the warranty work seems to be much better (hopefully there won't be a third time). Setup time can be as little as a couple of minutes to 20 odd, depending on the extent you want to go to (overnight or long stay).

Hope this helps.
