Legalities of Drawer Systems

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the legalities of fitting drawer systems whereby you effectively turn a 7-seater into a 5 seater and how would it affect insurance, we all know that insurance companies would do anything to get out of a claim if they could!

Thanks, Graham

G'Day Sandyngraham,

It may depend on the state you're in and it may not but I "think" that as long as the seats can be put back in with only simple tools (ie spanners etc) then it's not considered a permanent modification and is ok.

Oh and I'll save the others that won't offer any advice but will post a one sentence reply... probably best to search the archives, there's a bit of info in there! ;-)

Someone is bound to post more specific info soon but!

Cheers
Scoey!

Interesting link.

So, Queensland is taking a different approach to the other States mentioned.
This makes a mockery of Australian Design Rules which should be AUSTRALIA WIDE. No bloody interpretations from "little Hitler" State Governments.
