hiya diamond you know how it is somebody opens that big can and somebody has to go first so it might as well be a nissan patrol but as has been said after this it all depends on what use you have for it. my daughter has a little terios but it gets over the bumpy roads ok but it would be interesting to see it try and straddle a large washout without dissappearing but i havent tried it out yet to much work and not enough playtime our little play group hasnot done any serious 4x4 for about 12 mths but we are trying to get movig again and when we do i will try and take the toy out to play to see how it handles trying to find somewhere the fires havent been that is open is aproblem may have to try forests up your way any way back to the can of worms

If you can extend a little, I got a friend who is selling his two year old Ford Courier Turbo Diesel (top of the range model) with canopy CD stacker etc, I think he wants $20, it is another 5 grand but you get a two year old 4WD....
It has 4 brand new tyres too...

Truckster is a known Patrol nut, so he would recommend a Patrol first and foremost (with good reason though mind you), but consider several options and take them ALL for a drive. You will find them vastly different.

Couple of opinions. Whilst the Patrol and Cruisers are probably the pick, consider because of that you will pay a Premium price for one.

The one Truckster pointed out was what, an 89 Patrol for $15000. You should be able to get a 92 or so model Pajero for that, with all the creature comforts. Probably handles a bit better on raod too. Maybe not as well offroad though granted. Maybe consider a Maverick rather then a Patrol. Identical vehicle but generally a tad cheaper, because its a Ford.

have a look around a drive a few. then come and ask, and make a decision from there.
